Interdisciplinary workshop on the psychological determinants of food consumption

As part of the funding of the Psychofood project by the MSH Saclay, we are organizing an interdisciplinary workshop on the psychological determinants of food consumption. This day will allow us to gather different point of views from economists, epidemiologists and food psychologists on the behaviour of food choices and the adoption of specific diets.

The Psychofood project is an interdisciplinary project aimed at studying the determinants of eating behaviour in the French population.  The Psychofood questionnaire, that consists of a reduced food frequency questionnaire developed by the teams of the E3N cohort (CESP, INSERM) and a quantitative elicitation questionnaire on individual risk and time preferences, was sent in June and July 2018 to a representative sample of the French population via tablets as part of the ELIPSS panel (DIME SHS). This database is extremely rich in order to establish an inventory of the French people's food consumption patterns and to study their socio-economic, demographic and psychological determinants.

After having received insights from the research of 6 invited professors from different disciplines, the workshop will end with a session in which E. Duwez (Sc Po) will present the ELIPSS panel and Antoine Nebout (INRA) will present the Psychofood project as well as the first results from the database exploitation.
